In 1976 Mike earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Upon completing his studies he worked for Allied Chemical until 1987.

Mike was introduced to the world of self storage in May of 1987 and has more than 22 years experience with self-storage. Initially hired by a Boston based self storage management company,

Mike started at their Cicero, NY location as Manager. Later that year he was promoted and assigned the task of overseeing all three of their locations in the Syracuse area. Mike eventually became the manager at the Syracuse location with responsibility for oversight of Dewitt and Cicero.

Joining Storage Investment Management, Inc. (SIMI) in February of 1989 when the Syracuse property was sold and SIMI was appointed as managing agent. SIMI promoted Mike to Senior Sales Manager, a supervisory position in January of 2003. His responsibilities included oversight of daily operations for six locations in New York and Connecticut.

During June 2009 Mike was promoted to his present position as Vice President of Operations. His responsibilities include operational supervision for the entire 1.5 million square feet SIMI portfolio located across the Northeastern U.S. In this capacity he will supervise more than 80 staff.

Mike has been a coach of numerous youth teams with over 12 year’s experience. He takes pride in his ability to get good results while making the experience enjoyable. Mike has faith this is the best approach to people in general and utilizes these same techniques in his management style. He believes that a happy employee is a better worker.
